Haiti is the only successful slave revolt. Whites and large part of the mulatto population were evicted and exterminated. For two centuries Haiti is an almost 100% (?) Black nation. From fertile rich food export country under French colonial rule, Haiti descended into centuries of utter chaos and poverty. {{citation needed}} In spite of huge foreign aid, it never recovered from the devastating earth quake.
